FOLLOWING last week's comfortable victory over Crumlin, Parkhall College's Year 9 went into this week's match against their biggest rivals, Ballee, full of confidence.
Their assured start brought them the goal they deserved when Lee Herron played in strike partner Jordan Hughes who took a great first touch before finishing past the Ballee keeper.
In the second half Ballee came out with a sense of urgency and Par
khall had to hang on until 15 minutes into the half before eventually conceding and from there, Ballee scored twice more to make the score 3-1.
YEAR 10
Following last week’s capitulation in the last 10 minutes against Crumlin, this time it was Parkhall’s turn to produce a late show, with a last minute strike from the prolific Jordan Foster earning his side all three points against Ballee.
Just when it seemed the first half would end scoreless, up popped Lee Kirkpatrick to score his second goal in successive games.
Ballee battled back and equalised and it seemed that stalemate would persist until the end, until Foster notched his second goal of the season to earn Parkhall their first win.
YEAR 11
The year 11 side opened their league campaign with a 5-0 win over St Patrick’s College, Ballymena.
Parkhall’s early persistence paid dividends when Luke Carson broke clear to finish past the advancing keeper and the same player scored again following good work by Dean Irvine and Sam Carson in midfield.
Three more goals followed in the second half from Sam Rawlinson (2) and a 30-yard screamer from man- of-the-match Dean Irvine.
