ANTRIM District Cub Scouts descended on Lord O'Neill's Randalstown Estate last Saturday to partake in the Annual Cub Challenge.
This event, with the emphasis strictly on fun, gives the junior section of the Scout Association a chance to enjoy a range of outdoors activities that individual groups might find difficult to organise. It also gives the ever-patient leaders a chance to swap stories and compare notes!

The competition was held last year to mark Scouting’s Centenary, but was so popular the decision was taken to make it annual event.

A leader from 4th Antrim commented: “this is a great day out for the Cubs, and one they look forward to. It is wonderful to see them work as a team to complete the activities.”

Naturally the Cubs had different highlights one young Cub from 1st Muckamore caught her breath just long enough to say: “I love getting mucky on the assault course.”

Last year’s winning team from Crumlin will hand their trophy over to this year’s winning team from 1st Muckamore, with 4th Antrim coming a close second.
