DUE to the refurbishment of Rathmore YFC hall, the members of Muckamore WI met for their first meeting of the new season in the Non-subscribing Presbyterian church hall in Templepatrick.
President, Mary Taylor, thanked the minister and session of the church for granting the use of the hall, noting members' delight with the excellent facilities.

Mrs Taylor also welcomed members back after the summer break with a special welcome to
Isobel Vaughan and May Wilson who had been ill.

A silent tribute was paid to the memory of Kathleen Davidson, an honorary member, who died during the summer.

At the business meeting it was agreed to contribute £75 to a WI project, Women Feed the World.

The speaker for the evening was Shirley Kernohan who gave members ideas for easy recipes with a Christmas theme.

Joan Gray proposed a vote of thanks to Shirley and members enjoyed the food from the demonstration at supper time.

Shirley judged the competition for the prettiest napkin which was won by Heather Kerr.

There were three birthday girls - July - Hazel Coates; August - Ruth Blair; September - Mary Thompson.

The next meeting is the Annual General Meeting with Mrs M McMillan in the chair. A good attendance is expected.

Muckamore ladies will continue to meet in Templepatrick for the foreseeable future on the first Thursday of the month at 7.45pm.
