THE 4 Corners Music Festival is now officially up and running with the Iona Bateman exhibition open for viewing at Castle Upton Gallery, Templepatrick.
With the launch party out of the way, attention now switches to the music, and first up is the exciting prospect of one of the biggest names from the Northern Ireland contemporary jazz scene, THE DAVID LYTTLE TRIO playing at the COMFORT HOTEL, ANTRIM
, on Thursday 9 October at 8pm.

Born in 1984, David Lyttle is a jazz drummer and composer based in Northern Ireland who studied at the University of Ulster and the Skidmore Jazz Institute in New York and has performed with a range of internationally acclaimed artists such as Jean Touissant, Jacqui Dankworth and Soweto Kinch.

Known for his passionate approach to jazz that swings hard, his debut album, ‘True Story’, was released in 2007 to great acclaim. Tickets are still available at £8/ £6 concession.

Next up are the THE RAPPAREES at the O’NEILL ARMS HOTEL, TOOMEBRIDGE, on Friday 10 October at 7.30pm. The Rapparees, fresh from the release of their new album, Clarity, are one of the fastest rising folk bands around at the moment, and many believe that they are quite possibly Ireland’s leading folk band.

Certainly their unique blend of folk music, featuring everything from soothing ballads to foot-stomping belters, has, for the last 7 years, been thrilling audiences all over the country.

With some of the band members hailing from the Antrim area it is always a pleasure to have them back, and they have never disappointed. With support on the night from up and coming MADD band, Smithereen, and tickets at only £8 / £6 concession, now would be a good time to secure your tickets for what is going to be a memorable night.

Don’t forget Pushborders at Madden’s Bar on Saturday 11 October at 8.30pm and Fisherman’s Blues Revisited at Clotworthy Arts Centre on Tuesday 14 October at 7.30pm.

Tickets are also still available for both these shows, but make sure to catch the Starbuck’s Sessions, free performances by local singer/songwriters in the ambient surroundings of Starbucks at Junction One on Thursdays 9 & 16 October at 7.30pm.
